エピジェネティックな異常に着目することにより乳癌の診断およびサブタイプマーカーを探索し以下の点について明らかにした。1)幹細胞形質維持に重要な腫瘍抑制遺伝子PTENのDNAメチル化異常を伴わない高頻度な発現低下、2)HER2陽性乳癌に特徴的な8種類の新規microRNA異常、3)幹細胞転写因子OCT4の乳癌における高頻度の発現亢進。
