本年度は、情報に乏しいフィンランドの先鋭的学校建築32事例の図面採取、視察を行い、学校空間および教育プログラム面のデータベース化を行った。具体的には、学校空間面では、まず教室数、校舎の空間構成、のべ床面積、敷地面積、立地条件などの建築的な基礎的情報をデータベース化した。次に、大きく、教室内の学習環境構成、校舎全体、敷地における校舎の建ち方の3視点から行った。例えば、教室内には個人机や椅子のほかに、くつろぐためのソファ、数人で使うための大きな机があり、それら家具の配置や種類に着目し類型した。校舎全体では、教室の配列、出入り口から教室への動線など空間的特徴に着目し類型した。そして、教室等をでこぼこに配置することで、校舎が生徒が生活する上で魅力的な外部空間を生みだすという、日本の校舎とは異なる構成形式を見いだした。学校教育プログラム面では、学校の教育理念、学年別生徒数、教師数、授業形態、時間割などの基礎的情報をデータベース化した。また、フィンランド建築雑誌Arkの1980年1月号〜2007年10月号をレビューすることにより、1980年以降のフィンランド学校建築に関する歴史的変遷を把握することができた。同時に、先進的な学校建築を設計している建築家で、タンペレ工科大学Prof. Irmali Rahdelmaにヒアリングをい、学校建築に関する設計プロセスや設計上の留意点を把握できた。
