古代日本語における形容詞述語文の対象語標示の機能を担う名詞の諸語形について、それぞれの機能と機能上の差異を確認するとともに、これまでおこなってきた動詞述語文の主語名詞および対象語名詞に関する研究と関連づけて検討することを通して、主語名詞の文法的意味を明らかにすることが本研究の目的である。実施計画を立てた段階においてはデータ収集、データ整理等の調査を3年間で終わらせ、その後の2年間で動詞述語文における研究との関連について検討を進める予定であったが、データ収集およびデータ整理が予定通りに進められておらず、現在も調査を継続しておこなっている。令和4年度も平安期日本語の仮名文学テキストの分析を継続しておこなった。動詞の場合と異なり、形容詞述語文における対象語の用例が少ないことから、調査テキストの範囲を広げ、現在も継続してデータ収集をおこなっている。また、先行研究の調査もおこなっているが、本研究計画の公表後から現在までの間、同様の課題の研究成果が発表されたため、本研究の実施計画を変更する必要がないか検討をおこなった。
