前立腺癌を含め多くの癌の発生に炎症が関わっていることが提唱されている。炎症の分子メカニズムとして酸化ストレスがあり、前立腺癌の発生や進展に酸化ストレスが関与している可能性がある。この研究では、以前より解明してきたアンジオテンシンII(Ang-II)の前立腺癌に及ぼす機能のうち、Ang-IIがもつ酸化ストレス作用に注目し、前立腺癌発生への関与の可能性について解析した。研究結果から、Ang-IIが酸化ストレスを誘発して前立腺癌の発生に関与している可能性が示唆された。
