项目摘要
血管内皮細胞が少量の抗癌剤でも再現性良く障害されることに着目し、抗癌剤を少量頻回持続投与することで軽い副作用のままにがんを休眠状態に導こうというメトロノミック化学療法の有用性の検討を行った。ヒト卵巣がん由来の薬剤耐性腫瘍を用いた動物実験で、軽度の副作用にも関わらずがん休眠状態に導きやすいことが確認できた。臨床試験でも少数例ながら癌の進行を食い止めたと考えられる症例が得られ、治療中のQOLは良好であった。以上、基礎的にも臨床的にも今回のがん休眠化学療法の有効性が示唆された。
