项目摘要

本研究最終年度の今年度の成果は、ロンドン大学教育大学院図書館(英)及びゲオルク・エッカート・インスティテュート(独)において、初年度に調査した教科書と、二年目に行った教科書内容に重要に関わる政府による指導指針の文書について、不足していた部分や補足したい資料について集中的に調査したことである。このことで、技術的問題等で欠損していた部分や、コピーやスキャン文書が不鮮明であった部分、また調査の当時に文書が不在であったなどの理由で欠けていた箇所を補充することができた。この研究の意義は、ヨーロッパにおける第二次世界大戦の戦勝国と敗戦国が、各々いかなるアプローチでその歴史を公教育という場で解釈し伝えてきたかということを探るとともに、両国の事例を比較検討することを通して、アジアにおける歴史対話という重要な政治的・教育的課題を抱えるわが国の歴史教育のあり方について再考するひとつの手がかりを提示することであった。よって、本年度の論文・口頭での研究発表は、上記調査結果を踏まえ、日本の歴史教育への取り組みについて議論をする内容となった。この三年間の研究を通して発見できたことは、当初の予想とほぼ同様で、ドイツの教科書記述の詳細さ・綿密さ・分量の多さからして歴史教育に対する重点政策が読み取れ、イギリスに関しては第二次世界大戦とはナチス・ドイツが中心的アクターとして理解できる記述がほとんどであった。独英両国の大戦に関わる歴史教育の実態を詳細に調べられたことは、全体として大きな成果であったと考えるが、一方で、前期・後期中等教育の教諭であった本研究者は、活字で認識する歴史としての教科書が、各学校・各教室・各教員により様々な環境・解釈で用いられ、当然のことながら教育内容を把握する上ではひとつの方法・側面に過ぎないことを現場で強く認識してきた。よって、本研究に今後つながる研究として、学校の教室外であるが広い意味で公の場で行われている歴史教育について、本件と同様とくた第二次世界大戦の歴史において、わが国と深く関わる国々を対象に調査したいと考える。
