新人看護師指導の役割を担うプリセプターの多くは、新人看護師を指導する際、多様な問題に直面し、効果的な指導を展開できず、その問題解決に必要な学習機会を要望している。本研究は、プリセプターの役割遂行上直面している問題を質的帰納的に解明し、その成果を基盤として信頼性と妥当性を確保した「プリセプター問題診断尺度」の開発を目指した。開発した尺度は、プリセプター自身が、役割遂行上直面する問題を特定し、その解決に自律的に取り組めるようなプリセプター問題対応型教育プログラムの立案に活用できる。本研究は、次の２段階を経て、プリセプター問題対応型教育プログラム立案に向け、プリセプター問題診断尺度の開発を目ざす。第１段階は、新人看護師を指導するプリセプターの役割遂行上直面する問題を質的帰納的に解明した。具体的には、全国の病院に就業するプリセプターを対象とし、内容的妥当性を確保した質問紙を用いて質問紙調査を実施した。収集した自由回答式質問に対する回答をBerelson,B.の方法論を参考にした看護教育学における内容分析（舟島,2010）を用いて分析し、プリセプターの役割遂行上直面する問題24種類を明らかにした。第２段階は、第１段階で解明したプリセプターの役割遂行上直面する問題24種類を基に、「プリセプター問題診断尺度」の開発を目ざした。具体的には、看護教育学における測定用具の開発（舟島,2010）の手順に沿って開発を目ざし、プリセプターの役割遂行上直面する問題24種類の全体構造を確認し、「プリセプター問題診断尺度」の質問項目の作成、尺度化、レイアウトを実施した。数回にわたり、質問項目の表現の検討を継続している。さらに、質問項目の表現の検討を継続し、実際に新人看護師を指導しているプリセプターが活用しやすい尺度の完成を目ざす。
