公平な資源配分問題への貢献として、パレート効率性を満たす社会的選択対応に関するNash遂行可能条件と２つの公平性の条件により、比例配分ルールと平等所得ワルラスルールという二つの配分ルールを特徴づけた。遂行可能性条件としては、Yamada and Yoshihara (2007, IJGT)によって提示されたSupporting Price IndependenceとIndependence of Unused Skillsという二つの公理を用いた。公平性の条件としては、同じ選好と生産性を持つ個人が同じ量の労働を行った場合には同じ報酬を受け取ることを要求する公理と、他の個人が働いているときに何もしなかった個人には何の報酬も与えられない事を要求する公理の二つを用いた。動学的な社会選択理論への貢献として、世代間衡平性の観点から効用の無限流列をランクづけるモデルについて研究した。具体的には、無限効用流列の下限を用いたRawls基準によるランキングを二つの観点から特徴づけた。一つは、世代間における効用の不平等を縮小する事は社会的に否定されてはならないことを要求するHammond衡平性を用いた特徴付けである。もう一つは、ある世代にとって望ましい状態が政府の介入によって否定されない事を要求するある種の自由主義の原理と、世代間衡平性の考え方を表す要求として広く使われている普遍性の公理を用いた特徴付けである。それぞれの公理に加えて、弱い効率性の公理とある補助的公理を用いて、Rawls基準を特徴づけた。
