项目摘要

Our project,"The Atlantic History in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries : in the Perspective of Cultural Borderland" aims to explore the world which was born in the North Atlantic in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, in the perspective of cultural borderlands. We wish to accept the Atlantic as a whole and to write a total history of the Atlantic, by connecting the small communities at the both seaboard areas to several networks of the Atlantic.We have had more than 20 research project seminars with presentations and deep discussions for the past four years. And at the final stage of the project, we held International Maritime History Symposium,"Maritime Networks in the North Atlantic.". The aim is to present the recent research and to generate a debate on how we can contribute to the maritime history in the North Atlantic, especially, focusing on the maritime networks which were interwoven with one another in the whole Atlantic.I wish to add that we published The Atlantic History in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries : In the Perspective of Cultural Borderland, as a report of research project, edited by Kikuyo Tanaka, in March 2012.

我们的项目“十八世纪和十九世纪的大西洋历史：从文化边疆的角度看”旨在从文化边疆的角度探索十八世纪和十九世纪在北大西洋诞生的世界。我们希望接受大西洋作为一个整体，并通过连接在两个沿海地区的小社区到大西洋的几个网络，写一个完整的历史。我们已经有超过20个研究项目研讨会，介绍和深入讨论在过去的四年。在项目的最后阶段，我们举办了国际海事历史研讨会，“北大西洋的海事网络。".其目的是介绍最近的研究，并就如何为北大西洋的海洋历史做出贡献展开辩论，特别是关注整个大西洋相互交织的海洋网络。我想补充的是，我们出版了《18世纪和19世纪的大西洋历史》：2012年3月田中菊代编辑的研究课题报告《文化边疆的视角》。
