Body weight loss and appetite loss are specificically observed after upper digestive tract surgery including carcinomas of the stomach and esophagus, and strongly impaired post operative QOL. We have performed randomized clinical trial and proved that administration of synthetic ghrelin, a novel gastrointestinal hormone, successfully improved these symptoms. The clinical application of ghrelin is promising for these patients.

体重减轻和食欲不振是上消化道手术后的特殊现象，包括胃癌和食道癌，以及术后严重损害的生活质量。我们进行了随机临床试验，证明使用合成的胃肠激素，一种新的胃肠激素，成功地改善了这些症状。Ghrelin的临床应用前景广阔。
