Techniques of the applied arts in East Asia after the fall of the Tang dynasty as exemplified by the finds from the Liao tomb at Tuerjishan

强大而有影响力的唐朝（618-907）灭亡后，东亚国家，如契丹（辽）、高丽以及平安时期的日本，都位于前唐朝领地的外围，最终形成了自己独特的风格。为了准备将来对这些国家的比较研究，我们仔细研究了吐尔鸡山墓出土的作品（10世纪早期），以及其他辽代艺术品，以更好地了解它们的结构，装饰设计和技术；成功组装了大量内蒙古自治区各文化机构馆藏文物的数字化摄影文献。

After the fall of the powerful and influential Tang dynasty (618-907), countries in East Asia like Khitan (Liao), Goryeo as well as Heian-period Japan, all located on the outskirt of the former Tang dynasty domain, have eventually developed distinctive styles of their own. In preparation of comparative studies of these countries in the future, we have closely studied the pieces excavated from Tuerjishan tomb (early 10^<th> century), along with other Liao works of art, to better understand their structure, decorative design and techniques ; and successfully assembled a large number of digitized photographic documents of the objects kept in the cultural institutions of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
