Poetic Imagination in Northern Ireland : A Study of Culture, History and Society in the Conflict Area

笔者广泛而深入地研究了北方爱尔兰的文化、历史和社会，特别是1921年爱尔兰分治以来的文化、历史和社会，对北方爱尔兰五年来的文学作品、壁画等方面的诗歌想象进行了分析和评述。我出版了一些书籍和论文：《北方爱尔兰的壁画》和关于北方爱尔兰或阿尔斯特的代表诗人的论文（塞缪尔·弗格森和路易斯·麦克尼斯）。此外，我通过关于北方爱尔兰新教和天主教社区之间的接口问题的论文，研究了“麻烦”的现状。我相信，我对北方爱尔兰的学习和研究，对当今世界其他冲突地区的后殖民主义、民族主义、少数民族等问题的研究，会有许多启示

Studying the culture, history and society of Northern Ireland widely and deeply especially since the partition of Ireland in 1921, I have made analysis and comments on some aspects of poetic imagination of Northern Ireland such as literary works and murals for five years. I have published books and papers: Murals in Northern Irelandand essays on representative poets in Northern Ireland or Ulster (Samuel Ferguson and Louis MacNeice). In addition, I have examined the present situation of the ‘Troubles’through the paper on the problem of the interfaces, flashpoints between Protestant and Catholic communities, in Northern Ireland. I am sure that my study and research focused on Northern Ireland will give many hints to those on the problems of post-colonialism, nationalism, minorities and so on in other conflict areas in the modern world
