The edit of the dictionary of the Khitai language is the firstly attempted in the history of study on the Khitai language and scripts. Based on concrete and rich fruit of three years' research project, the head investigator identifies all the scripts seen on newly excavated epitaphs and dispersed materials and makes electronic texts of them, assumes meanings of words that never have been deciphered, on the other hand, reconstructs phonetic values of lots of phonographies and ideographies, enriches database of words of collected Khitai materials that have been deciphered based on studies and analyses under the newest linguistic approaches. Based on the construction of this database, the full-scale linguistic study of Khitai scripts has reached a level of completion, and offers rich basement of studies on concerning fields.

契泰语词典的编辑，在契泰语文字研究史上尚属首次尝试。课题组长经过三年的研究，取得了具体而丰富的成果，一方面对新出土的墓志铭和散布资料中所见的文字进行了识别并制作成电子文本，一方面对从未破译过的文字进行了意义的推定，另一方面对大量的表意文字进行了音值重建，丰富了经研究和破译的契泰语材料的文字数据库。 根据最新的语言学方法进行分析。通过该数据库的建设，契泰文字的语言学研究已基本完成，为相关领域的研究提供了丰富的基础。
