Reconstruction of past 200 years sea surface and salinity change of the western tropical Pacific using coral annual bands from Palau Islands

In this study, I reconstructed past 100 years sea surface temperature and salinity changes in Palau Islands located on the western tropical Pacific based on oxygen stable isotope and Sr/Ca measurements of the coral samples. The reconstructed salinity indicated stable condition through 20^<th> century at Palau, whereas the sea temperature increased. This is a characteristic salinity pattern as compared to the salinity in the central tropical Pacific. I also showed the change of periodicity of salinity at after 1990 and before 1970. These alterations of salinity periods would be showed the changes of precipitation at the western tropical Pacific related to the recent increased-ENSO or the regime shift after 1970's.
