顎関節における炎症性疾患の病態の主体となる滑膜表層細胞と破骨細胞にはcaveolin-3が発現する。両細胞に共通したイオンチャネルや受容体の存在を検索することを目的として、成獣ラット顎関節において特異抗体を用いた免疫組織学的検索を行った。破骨細胞ではT型、L型、N型電位依存性カルシウムイオンチャネルやENaCが、滑膜表層細ではT型チャネルやENaCが発現しており、これらはカルシウムシグナリングやイオン濃度変化に対する恒常性の維持に関与することが示唆された。
