we demonstrated that IL-24 expression is enhanced in the inflamed mucosa of active IBD patients. Colonic SEMFs-derived IL-24 appears to play a protective role in the pathophysiology of IBD via a stimulation of STAT3 activation in cells mediating the innate immune response.
