本年度は、まず、前年度までに完成させ、本年度付けで武田科学振興財団紀要『杏雨』13号に掲載された「松岡恕庵著作資料目録」(「松岡恕庵本草学の書誌的調査研究」資料編)のさらなる増補・改訂作業より研究を開始した。調査の対象範囲を書簡や恕庵著作以外の関連資史料などにまで拡大し、加えて序跋文や奥書の翻刻・読解も進めたことによって、本目録の一層の充実が達成された。著作資料の序跋や奥書は恕庵本人によるものに限らず、門人、あるいは恕庵と交流を持っていたらしい同時代知識人によるものを多く含むため、この増補・改訂作業によって本目録は、恕庵研究のみならず恕庵の周辺にあった学者社会、すなわち17世紀末から18世紀中葉にかけての日本(特に京都)の学問世界の在り方を広く研究する上でも新たな材料を提示し得る有意義なものとなった.さらに具体的な著作読解としては、(1)医薬本草書で恕庵の主著でもある『用薬須知』(享保11年刊)および『本草一家言』(写本、成年未詳)の比較読解、(2)「蘭」字を名に持つ花木(フジバカマやモクレンなど)の専書『怡顔斎蘭品』(享保13年刊)およびその稿本(都立図書館加賀文庫所蔵)の比較読解などを通じて、その本草研究が常に「実体と名称の混乱を斥ける」という目的意識のもとで行われていたことを具体的に確認した。また本草以外の著作資料では、儒書(太極図講義草稿『太極図説管見鈔』、自筆、龍谷大学写字台文庫所蔵)、そして神道書(神代巻講義草稿『神代巻辺津鏡』、自筆、内藤記念くすり博物館所蔵)についても読解も進めた。特に前者では、恕庵が朱子学者を自認しながらも、理気の別よりはむしろその「妙合」を重視して説いたという新知見を得ることができた。
