本年度は、カントの概念論の固有性を明らかにするために、「概念」の取り扱いに関してカントがカント以前の哲学者とどのように対決し、どのようにそれを乗り越えていったのかを検証した。研究は、『純粋理性批判』の「純粋理性の誤謬推理について」、および「純粋悟性概念の図式論について」に焦点を絞って行った。「誤謬推理」章を取り上げた研究に関しては、『哲学』第60号掲載の論文と、11月に行われた日本カント協会第34回学会のワークショップでの発表において、その成果をまとめている。この研究において明らかとなったのは、カントの概念論における「徴表(Merkmal)」の重要性である。上記の論文および研究発表において示されたのは、「徴表」という概念に着目して「誤謬推理」章を読解すると、カントの「概念論」の固有性のみならず、カントの形而上学構想の変遷の意味を理解する手掛かりも得られる、ということである。そのほか、カントの論理学講義の内容と、『純粋理性批判』との関連の明確化も併せて行ったが、この点でも意義があったといえる。「図式論」を取り上げた研究の成果は、9月に行われた実存思想協会・ドイツ観念論研究会共催シンポジウムにおいて発表することができた。この発表においては、カントの「図式」がデカルト以来の近世哲学における「観念」をめぐる論争の系譜に位置づけられること、またこのような系譜への位置づけおこなうことではじめて、「図式論」章の役割が明確になることを示した。また上記の二つの研究を含む課程博士論文「カント『純粋理性批判』における概念の問題」を京都大学に提出し、11月24日付で学位を取得した。
