项目摘要

日本学術振興会特別研究員(DC1)として最後の年度となった本年は、これまでに調査を重ねてきた大阪労音に関する研究をまとまった形の論文に仕上げる作業に集中することとなった。その過程で、理論装置として機能させるべく考察を重ねていた「キッチュ」というテーマについて、国際学会AMIC(Asian Media Information and Commumcation Centre)で発表したことで、国際的に通用する研究へと育てるためのヒントを得られたことも大きい。元来、ドイツ語であった「キッチュ」が英語圏の人間にとってどのような意味を持つのか、という点は今後の課題ともなった。調査の進展としては、二点が挙げられる。まず第一点として、大阪労音の前史としての宝塚についてより詳細に分析したことを挙げておきたい。大阪労音の初代会長であった須藤五郎という人物は元・宝塚の指揮者であり、実際に数えてみたところ、戦前・戦後を通じてちょうど100の公演に関与していることがわかった。さらに、宝塚に関する先行研究を調べる中で、宝塚が人々の西洋イメージを反映した「イメージの西洋」によって大衆性と教育性を両立していたという事実も明らかになった。このことは「イメージの教養」たるジャズ・ミュージックによって会員層を拡大した労音の手法と相似的である。このメカニズムこそ、「イメージの〇〇」という形で人々の共同主観に訴えかける「キッチュ」のそれであった。本研究で追求してきた文化的共通基盤のよりどころとは、動員力と教育力を兼ね備えたこの「キッチュ」であったと結論づけられよう。調査の進展における二点目は朝日会館に関するものである。朝日会館には大阪労音設立における影の立役者として以前から注目していたが、朝日会館のオーナーである朝日新聞社に足を運び、実際にその通史や機関誌を閲覧することで、大阪労音との協力関係の実態を知ることができた。意外なことに、朝日会館の公式記録を見る限り、少なくとも1950年代前半において大阪労音の公演は一度としておこなわれていない。これは、大阪労音の公演に際しての賃館が、十河巌という当時の会館長の権限によって私的なものとして行われていたためである。『大阪労音十年史』に記されていた「好意的賃館」の意味がここで明らかになった。すなわち、初期における大阪労音は会員集めを含め、すべてが個人的つながり(あるいは社会関係資本といっても良い)によって運営されていたことが明らかになった。以上のような新たな研究成果を盛り込みつつ完成した集大成としての論文は、京都大学教育学研究科において審査され、結果として博士論文として認定された。また、この成果を著書として出版するため、某出版社とも企画の段階に入っている。その意味で本年は日本学術振興会特別研究員としての研究を締めくくる集大成となった年度であったといえる。
