This research project surveyed the historical materials relating to the history of science on premodern Japan. We searched and catalogued bibliographical information of traditional mathematics, astronomy, medicine, surveying and so on. Especially we focused on some rare books on surveying on 17th century in Japan.We, however, had to change our approach for gathering materials after the attack of great earthquake and tsunami of Eastern Japan on 2011.
