A Web-pathfinder creating support system was build for novice learners, who are unfamiliar with the information resources on libraries and the Web, to actively engage the learners in their own learning. The system collects the bibliographic information of documents, the locations of Web resources, and keywords related to a particular topic, via reliable information resources on the Web. The collected information is displayed as a Web page in the format according to the widely cited information-seeking behavior model of university students so that the learners can glance through the page. The effect of using the support system was clarified by the experiment in which university students freely created their own Web-pathfinders.

建立了一个网络探索者创建支持系统，帮助对图书馆和网络上的信息资源不熟悉的新手学习者积极参与自己的学习。该系统通过Web上可靠的信息资源，收集文献的书目信息、Web资源的位置信息以及与特定主题相关的关键词。将收集到的信息按照被广泛引用的大学生信息寻找行为模型的格式，以网页的形式显示出来，供学习者浏览。通过大学生自由创建自己的网络探索者的实验，使用支持系统的效果得到了澄清。
