项目摘要

まず主に前年度行った研究をまとめ論文として発表した(「宋代地方官の着任儀礼-官学との関わりを中心に」(『東洋学報』93-3))。この研究では孔子廟と一体となった官学に、地方官が着任時に赴くことが宋代に定着していった様子を描いている。地方官にとっての孔子の位置が北宋後期に高まり、南宋初期にその認識が定着することとともに、南宋中期以降には郷賢を含む多様な対象にも着任儀礼を行っていたことが明らかになった。今年度はそれを踏まえた上で、多くの場合官学に祀られることとなった郷賢や先賢について研究を進め、『礼記』や『周礼』の解釈史の中にそれを位置づけ、なぜ学校にこれら先賢が祀られることになったのか、いかにして正当化されたのかを明らかにした。その結果、宋代には唐代とは異なる学校解釈と先賢解釈が見出された一方、唐代以来の伝統的解釈に立ち返ることにより、地方の釈莫において郷賢を祀ることの一根拠としていたことが明らかになった。南宋中期に道統に属する人物の先賢祀が急激に増えることを受けて例えば魏了翁は郷賢の祭祀を肯定するも、その他の先賢に関して広範囲で通祀することを批判していたことがわかった。一方では郷賢祭祀の経学的根拠として「郷先生」の概念を利用することで、「先師」を祭祀する理論と区別し宋代的解釈と矛盾しないようにする試みも確認された。これらの研究は地方官学の展開を起点に考えることにより、宋代士大夫の地域・政治との関わりを明らかにする試みであるが、すでに様々な方面から指摘されているように、士大夫の意識が中央から地方へと向かっていく流れの一つの例証となり得るものである。今後、元・明・清へとつながる社会を考察する上でその基盤となる内容である。
