项目摘要

昨年度は,新規公開企業のデータを用いて,企業がおかれる製品市場での競争度,成長性,リスクの程度といった製品市場属性が企業の資金調達手段に与える影響を,確認した。学会やワークショップなどでのコメントを参考にして,本年度は以下の点の改善を行った。第1に,資本制約の程度のコントロールを行った。具体的には,資産規模,創業後年数,現金同等物保有比率により,サンプルを分割した上で,各サンプルに対して同じ推定を行った。結果として,資本制約下にあると考えられるサブサンプル(規模が小さい,企業年齢が低い,現金同等物保有比率が低い)において,産業属性に関する変数の説明力が高いことが確認された。第2に,株式発行による調達規模をコントロールした。結果として,株式発行を多く行う企業であるほど負債利用が多いことが確認された。上述の改善により,昨年度確認された,産業属性が資本構成に影響を与えるとの結果は,より頑強なものであることが確認された。Phillips(2011)において指摘されているように,元来の資本構成,ひいては,コーポレート・ファイナンス研究においては,他企業の影響に関しては,ほとんど注月を浴びてこなかった。特に他企業の行動の総和であると考えられる産業属性に関しては,フォーカスされて来なかった。本研究の結果から,企業行動は,産業属性,つまり他企業の行動に大きく影響されていることが確認された。そのため,今後コーポレート・ファイナンス研究において,産業組織論的観点から,ある企業の行動が滝行に与える影響を考慮する重要性が示唆される。
