惨事ストレスへの耐性に関するプロアクティブな予測を行うために、消防署に配属された新人消防職員を対象にして、1年の間隔をおいて、心理検査・神経心理学的検査・脳科学的な検査を継時的に行った。2回の検査を受けたのは、消防職員7名と対照群として男子大学生2名であった。各神経心理検査得点について,大学生と消防職員を比較するために,Mann-Whitney検定を行った結果,各神経心理学検査得点には有意な差はみられなかった。職場配属から検査実施までの間で,衝撃をうけた災害へ出動経験があった消防職員が存在したので,被災体験があった消防職員(N=4)と被災体験がなかった消防職員(N=3)の神経心理学的検査得点を比較するために,Mann-Whitney検定を行った。その結果,Tapping Span(逆)に有意差傾向がみられ(p=.057),被災体験があった消防職員は,被災体験がなかった消防職員よりも得点が低かった。Tapping Span(逆)以外の神経心理学的検査得点には,被災体験による有無により,有意な差はみられなかった。また、効率的な検査実施のために、タブレット方パソコンを使って、検査過程を自動化するソフトの開発も行った。なお、研究協力者のスケジュールの調整がつかず、平成23年5月に検査が延びたため、研究終了が延期された。
