本研究の目的は,高齢者が「家庭用健康ゲーム・ソフト」を利用することの有用性と安全性を相対的に評価し,新たな健康づくりのプログラムを提案することである。本年度は昨年度の予備調査により試案した有用性と安全性の評価指標の再検討を行った。方法は,予備調査の対象者であった成人と健康状態が良好な前期高齢者8名(男性3名,女性5名,平均年齢55.5±8.8歳,範囲48-73歳)に,試案した有用性と安全性の各評価指標に対する意見を中心に聞き取り調査を実施した。その結果,安全性の評価指標の要素として,試案段階では「運動負荷による冠動脈危険因子への影響」,「転倒・転落事故の危険性」,「急性運動機能障害」,「慢性運動機能障害」,「眼精疲労」,「夢中になり過ぎることや長時間の使用による弊害」,「周囲への注意喚起」の7要素であったが,「使用方法の理解度」と「支援者の存在」の2要素が新たに抽出され,修正することにした。また,高齢者の「家庭用健康ゲーム・ソフト」を用いる場合には,安全性の確保,特に転倒・転落事故の危険性への対策が重要であることが推察され,(1)使用方法についての個別あるいは高齢者専用の説明書を準備すること,(2)動作を見守りながら一緒に行う支援者がいることが望ましいこと,(3)手すりや補助バーなど転倒防止のための用具を用いること,以上の3点を改善策として考慮する必要性が明らかになった。今後は図や写真を多用したパンフレットの作成に取り組むことにし,その検証を次年度に実施したい。
