To develop the regenerative medicine of glaucoma, I tried to introduce iPS cell into retinal ganglion cell and Muller cell, which is an adult stem cell in retina. At the same time, identivication of the marker genes of Muller cell were also taken place. First, a recombinant BAC clone, which has a red fluorescent protein DsRed gene at the position of a retinal progenitor cell marker Rx gene, was constructed. And, I found a gene called Epiplakin was a marker gene of Muller cell.
