Studies on the collaborations and role sharing of French film archives on national and international levels

In order to make the researches into the collaborations and role sharing of film archives in France, the researcher conducted institutional visits to the following institutions and comprehensive interviews with curators about the functions of regional film archives : Centre Pompidou-Metz (Metz); Cinematheque de Toulouse (Toulouse); Conservatoire regional de Nancy (Nancy); Institut Jean Vigo (Perpignan); Cinematheque de Corse (Porto-Vecchio, Corsica). The hands-on researches were also made at Centre de resources audiovisuelles de Bophana (Phnom Penn, Cambodia), which gives a good example which shows several French film archives collaborate to support out of the country. The researcher also visited two of Japen's film archives, Fukuoka City Public Library and Hiroshima City Cinematographic Audio-visual Library and had interviews with curators in order to discuss the possible collaborations among the archives which will help further develop film archiving in Japan.
