A Comparative Study of the Working Poor in Advanced Countries

这项研究的目的是比较发达国家的劳动贫困人口。而且它是基于一个统一的定义。为此目的，首先，研究发达国家的最低生活水平。其次，分析了发达国家的微观数据。研究结果显示，发达国家的劳动贫困人口主要集中在年轻人、受教育程度低的人、就业不稳定的人、个体户和员工较少的企业。另一方面，日本25-34岁和35-44岁年龄段的女性中，劳动贫困人口的比例很高，尽管其他发达国家并非如此。

The purpose of this study is to compare the working poor in advanced countries. Also it is based on a uniform definition. For this purpose, firstly, the minimum standards of living in advanced countries are examined. Secondly, microdata in advanced countries are examined. As results of this study, the working poor in advance countries are most likely to be found among the young, those with a low level of education, those in unstable employment, self-employed and those working in a company having few employees. On the other hands, the percentage of the working poor is high among the 25-34 and 35-44 female age groups in Japan, though this is not the case in the other advanced countries.
