Low-input-environment-friendly Green Revolution for Sub-Saharan Africa

一方面，根据在乌干达进行的农场调查、栽培试验和沼泽-水田转化试验，证实了旱作和简单灌溉条件下的水稻种植是可持续的，有助于增加小农户的收入。另一方面，为了识别撒哈拉以南非洲农业集约化对河流、湖泊和沼泽等水环境的不利影响，利用欧洲大陆的湖泊数据，建立了一个模型，从叶绿素a、总磷和总氮之间的关系估计水环境的水质变化。综合这些研究结果，确定了撒哈拉以南非洲“低投入-环境友好型农业”模式的条件。

On one hand, based on farm surveys, cultivation tests andswamp-to-paddy field conversion tests conducted in Uganda, it was verified that ricecultivation under rainfed and simple-irrigation is sustainable and contributes toincreasing income of small farmers. On the other hand, in order to identify the adverseimpacts agriculture intensification in Sub-Saharan Africa gives to such aquaticenvironments as rivers, lakes and swamps, a model was built to estimate changes in thewater quality of the aquatic environments from the relationship among Chlorophyll-a,total phosphorus and total nitrogen using the data of lakes in the European continent. Integrating the results from these researches, the conditions of a‘low-input-environment-friendly agriculture' model for Sub-Sahara Africa areidentified.
