当該年度(以下、昨年度とする)に実施した研究の主な成果は、以下の通りである。(1)国内・海外での研究発表 : 昨年度は依頼・招待を含め、合計6件の研究発表を行った。うち2件は「日蘭関係史」及び「近代日本の国家観」に関する論集への寄稿予定論文の構想発表であった。海外で行った1件の研究発表は、連携研究者として参加した基盤研究S「ユーラシアの近代と新しい世界史叙述」(研究代表者 : 羽田正教授)とベルリン自由大学のグローバル・ヒストリー研究グループとのジョイント・ワークショップで行ったもので、報告者の博士論文の成果の一部を報告した。(2)共同研究の継続 : 報告者は、1861年に清朝中国とプロイセン使節団の間で行われた条約交渉過程を対象とする共同研究を、天理大学教授村尾進氏と協力して2011年度から開始しているが、昨年度もそのための研究会を定期的に実施した。(3)ドイツでの史料調査 : 2014年1月、基盤研究(B)「ドイツにおける対日外交文書の収集と利用可能性」(研究代表者 : 五百旗頭薫教授)の資金援助を得てベルリンを2週間訪問し、プロイセン枢密文書館及びドイツ連邦文書館において史料調査・収集を行った。調査収集の対象としたのは主に、最初のプロイセン(ドイツ)駐日代表となったマツクス・フォン・ブラントの関係史料である。今回の収集史料には、これまで日本では未確認であった維新期のブラントの書翰を収載する簿冊が含まれ、今後の研究に活用したい。(4)論集への文寄稿 : 2013年6月にベルギー・ゲントで開かれたインド洋海域史に関する国際学会で"German Merchants in the Indian Ocean World : From Early Modern Paralysis to Modern Animation"と題する研究発表を行ったが、同学会の論文集が刊行予定であるため、発表原稿を加筆修正して投稿した。この他、別の論集への寄稿論文の推敲や書評の執筆を行った。以上の研究はいずれも、これまで当該分野の研究では活用されることの少なかったドイツ語、及びオランダ語の史料と邦語史料を併照し、幕末維新期日本の外交史を東アジア国際関係史・世界史的な文脈に位置づけつつ、新たな角度から考察しようとするものである。

The main results of the research carried out in the following year are as follows: (1)Domestic and overseas research reports: last year, according to the annual reception, including a total of 6 research reports. Two papers on "History of Japanese-Japanese Relations" and "Modern Japan's National History" were published. A report on the results of a doctoral thesis by a researcher who participated in a basic research project entitled "Modern and New World History Narrative"(Research Representative: Professor Masashi Haneda) and a research project conducted by Free University. (2)Joint research: The authors of this report conducted joint research on the process of treaty exchange between China and its diplomatic envoys in 1861, and Professor Shinji Murao of Tenri University collaborated in the research meeting held on a regular basis since the beginning of 2011. (3)Research on German Historical Materials: January, 2014. Foundation Research (B)"Collection and Utilization of Japanese Diplomatic Documents"(Research Representative: Professor Wu Baiqi). Research and collection of German historical materials was conducted during a two-week visit to the Privy Council Library and the German Federal Library. The historical data on the relationship between the subjects of the investigation and the opposition, and the original representative of the company in Japan and the company are available. The collection of historical materials in Japan has not been confirmed, and the books in Japan have been included for future research. (4)Comments: In June 2013, the International Society for the History of the Indian Ocean "German Merchants in the Indian Ocean World : From Early Modern Paralysis to Modern Animation" published the research report, the paper collection of the homecoming association was scheduled to be published, and the manuscript was revised and submitted. The author of this paper, the author of the book review, and the author of the other papers. The above research is based on the historical materials of Japanese and Japanese languages and the historical materials of Japanese and Japanese languages. The history of Japanese diplomacy in the late reform period is based on the historical context of international relations and world history.
