The purpose of this study is to explore the view of nationalism, the structure of nationalism discourse and the meaning of nationalism in modern Japanese journalism. As the result of this study, I illustrated how Hungarian TV journalism deals with nationalism, similarities and differences between Hungarian TV and Japanese TV, and the stereotype to China included in the Beijing Olympics and its news reports through Japanese TV. And, I advanced making a database of national newspapers articles about official issues. From now on, after having increased the completeness of the database, I plan to analyze a database of national newspapers articles, and to substantiate underlying nationalism by analyzing modern journalism.

本研究旨在探讨近代日本新闻中的民族主义观、民族主义话语结构及民族主义的意义。通过对匈牙利电视新闻中民族主义的处理、匈牙利电视新闻与日本电视新闻的异同、北京奥运会与日本电视新闻中对中国的刻板印象等方面的分析，说明了匈牙利电视新闻如何处理民族主义问题。而且，我提出了建立一个关于官方问题的全国性报纸文章的数据库。从现在起，在提高数据库的完整性后，我计划分析全国性报纸文章的数据库，并通过分析现代新闻来证实潜在的民族主义。
