项目摘要

This study that focused on changes of the meaning and political and social functions of obshchestvennost'(the public), a Russian term, whic had started to circulate in the late eighteenth century, examined multifaceted public and civic activities conducted by various social groups during approximately one hundred years spanning from the latter half of the nineteenth century to the late Soviet period. Through the work, it gave a new light to the state-society relations in modern and contemporary Russia, which has been informed by the image of strong state and week society. A part of the reseach results was submitted as several papers writen in English to two internatinal conferences that this research group organized.

这项研究关注的是“公众”（obshchestvennost）的含义、政治和社会功能的变化，这是一个俄语术语，在18世纪后期开始流传，研究了从19世纪下半叶到苏联后期大约100年间，各种社会团体开展的多方面的公共和公民活动。通过这部作品，它对现当代俄罗斯的国家与社会关系有了新的认识，这种关系一直被强大的国家和弱小的社会形象所影响。部分研究成果以多篇英文论文的形式提交给了该研究组组织的两次国际会议。
