Resaerch on Assessment of University Internationalization under Globally Competitive Higher Education

通过对欧洲4个大学国际化评估项目（Nuestro的MINT、IUI的IMPI、IAU的ISAS和ACA的AIM）的开发者和使用者的访谈，以及对这类评估文件的分析，对欧洲4个大学国际化评估项目进行了考察。然后，将IMPI的489个评价指标翻译成日文，并根据日本高等教育的实际情况，选择IMPI的152个指标，对日本228所大学进行了问卷调查。调查结果显示了国际化评估的现状和未来展望。此外，通过对调查数据的统计分析，通过与不太有效的指标进行比较，揭示了一套用于评估日本大学国际化努力的最有效的评估指标。

Four assessment projects of university internationalization in Europe, such as MINT by Nuffic, IMPI by CHR, ISAS by IAU, and AIM by ACA, were examined through interviewing their developers and users as well as analyzing documents regarding this kind of assessment. As a result, not only differences and similarities among those assessment projects but also their challenges and benefits were found. Then 489 evaluation indicators of IMPI were translated into Japanese and the questionnaire survey was carried out for 228 Japanese universities by using 152 indicators selected from IMPI's indicators in consideration of the Japanese higher education context. The survey results show the current situation and future outlook of internationalization assessment. Also, a set of the most effective evaluation indicators for the assessment of Japanese universities' internationalization efforts were revealed comparing with less effective indicators based on the statistical analysis of the survey data.
