Aged persons, who complained of suffocated by water, are subjected to this study. The subjects are ordered to execute vocal function exercise for 8 week. Questionnaire about their swallowing function, fiberoptic examination, stroboscopy, aerodynamic study and acoustic study are performed before the vocal function exercise. After this vocal rehabilitation, swallowing function and vocal function are evaluated. Though fiberoptic findings and stroboscopic findings show now change before and after the rehabilitation, acoustic study and aerodynamic study show improvement of their vocal function. According to the questionnaire, frequency of the cough during their meal decreased. As the vocal function exercise is very simple rehabilitation and easy to continue, even the aged persons can carry out easily.

本研究的对象是抱怨被水窒息的老年人。对受试者进行为期8周的发声功能锻炼。在发声功能锻炼前进行吞咽功能问卷调查、纤维胃镜检查、频闪镜检查、空气动力学检查和声学检查。在此之后，语音康复，吞咽功能和发音功能进行评估。康复前后的声纤维镜和频闪镜检查虽有改变，但声学检查和空气动力学检查显示其发声功能有改善。根据调查问卷，他们吃饭时咳嗽的频率减少了。由于发声功能锻炼是一种简单易行的康复训练，而且易于持续，即使是老年人也能轻松进行。
