Having worked in Siberia and the Far-East in September, 2011 and in Moscow in February-March, 2012, the reporter read archival documents on the Japanese internees in the USSR, made a step forward in cooperation with the Russian researchers and got some new knowledge on this problem. The panel discussion in Tokyo in October, 2011 became a chance of mutual understanding between ex-internees and the researchers concerned, as well as a chance of appeal to the public.

2011年9月在西伯利亚和远东地区工作，2012年2月至3月在莫斯科工作，笔者阅读了有关日本人在苏联被拘禁的档案资料，并与俄罗斯研究人员进行了合作，对这一问题有了新的认识。2011年10月在东京举行的小组讨论成为前被拘留者和相关研究人员之间相互理解的机会，也是吸引公众的机会。
