项目摘要

本研究では昭和戦前期・戦時期に国内政治を崩壊の過程と解するこれまでの研究潮流に対して、旧来の政治秩序が果たしていた役割に着目して研究を行っている。具体的には議会政治や憲法政治・経済秩序などが昭和戦前期に批判にさらされていく中で、批判に対してどのように批判を受け止め、適応していったのかという視点である。立憲政治と戦時体制という二つの体制概念の持っていた安定化機能に着目して研究を行っている。研究の進行について、平成25年度にも前年までから引き続いて昭和戦前期の政治・経済雑誌や論説、小冊子などの収集を行った。また名古屋・京都他の国内各地での史料調査を行って各地域における戦時政治・行政について新たな知見を得ることができた。ただ新たな発見を日本全体での変化の中で位置付ける際の体系化にっいて難しさも実感している。その点は今後意識して中央-地方の関係の中での分析軸を構築していきたい。改稿に時間のかかった博士論文について近日刊行の予定である。また昭和戦前期の政治と経済・行政という自分自身の研究との関連から「昭和経済界の風雲児・鮎川義介自動車と満州から見た日米関係」「昭和期内務省の変容-弱体化と官僚機構の構造変化-」という二本の書評論文を発表し、それぞれ研究史上の意義を整理すると共に、自分自身の研究との連関についても検討する機会となった。また立憲民政党の研究について依頼を受けて書評報告を行ったことは、これまで近代の官僚制についてのみの研究者として捉えられがちだった中で、政党政治についての初めての報告の依頼であり、今回を機会に今後研究の幅を広げていくための契機としたい。
