项目摘要

本研究の目的は、隔絶しつつある日本政治史と現代日本政治理論・歴史学理論との関係を整理し、両者の対話・交流を実りあるものとし、それにより閉塞状態にある日本政治史を再生させることにあった。日本政治史学史執筆には至らなかったが、多くの準備作業を行い得た。まず、最終年度である19年度は、日本政治史に政治過程論・連合理論・選択肢理論・民主政理論・思想史の政治学的分析などの理論的手法を持ち込むことで、数々の金字塔的著作を残された坂野潤治氏に学ぶべく、氏の理論的実験の集大成とも言うべき『未完の明治維新』(岩波書店、2007年)を始めとするこれまでの氏の業績を徹底的に分析する研究会を行った。坂野氏本人と松浦・空井を含む4名の論者、そしてフロアーからの熱気溢れる討論を通じ、氏の理論的枠組みの長所・限界と、それを幕末維新かち現代までという長期に適用することの意味が明らかになり、西欧政治学理論を直接日本政治史にあてはめるのではなく、まず日本政治史の文脈における問題関心の場に置き直してこれを再定義し、改めてオリジナルな分析枠組みとして、日本政治史分析に適用することの有意義性と画期性とが確認されたことは、大きな収穫であった。これを念頭に空井は、氏の『明治デモクラシー』(岩波書店、2005年)を扱った英文書評を執筆した。第二は、両人はそれぞれ、日本政治史と理論との関係に関する思索と議論とを深め、その結果を公刊した。松浦は、政治史の理論に対する意義を強調する『レヴァイアサン』所収論文を公刊し、石田編著等でディアスポラ理論を応用した論文を執筆し、政治過程論直輸入批判を紀要に発表し、『政治学のエッセンシャルズ』に「政党と選挙」「天皇制」の2項を歴史と理論との交錯の事例として書いた。空井は同書に「エリート競争デモクラシー」を執筆してダールの民主政理論を再検討し、『創文』でさらに掘り下げ、江田三郎を論じた。

The purpose of this research is to isolate and sort out the relationship between Japanese political history and modern Japanese political theory, historical theory and history, to enable people to talk and communicate with each other, and to ensure that Japanese political history is reborn despite the status of money.
