项目摘要

3年目にあたる平成25年度は、研究計画に示した中御門天皇及び近衞経凞の文字についての論文発表を目指したが、経凞の文字の採録が不十分であったため改めて近日中に論文化することとし、別に近衛家凞自筆の書状19通を一括してまとめた『家公御書翰』(個人蔵)に関する論文を発表した。当該資料は書状の数をやや多く収録するため、「(上)」と「(下)」の2回に分けて『三田國文』に連載した。このうち、「(上)」においては、初めに『家凞公御書翰』の詳細な書誌データを掲げた。近衞家凞は平安時代を中心とする非常に多くの名筆劇跡を学び、さまざまな書法を身につけたと言われている。しかし、『家凞公御書翰』に一括された家凞筆の書状に見られる書法の特徴は、いわゆる三筆の一人である空海の書法、わけても空海自筆の『風信帖』と似通う点が際だっている点が確認された。よって、「(上)」においては空海との関わりや、如何にして空海の書法の影響を受けるに至ったかについて考察した小考を、併せて掲載した。続く「(下)」では、第8通目の書状に用いられた紙が全書状の中で唯一、清国から舶載されたと思しき「宣紙」であるため、この点について言及した。また、この書状の内容は植物の「カクレミノ」に関わる内容であるが、家凞はカクレミノに限らず、非常に植物を好んだことが知られている。このため家凞と花についての関わりについて考察し、家凞が単なる植物好きであったのではなく、その淵源は少年期から嗜んだ茶の湯(茶道)にあるのではないか、と指摘した。さらに植物名「カクレミノ」の初見は、従来の説では文政10年(1827)とされてきたが、家凞のこの書状(具体的な年代を欠くが、少なくとも1736年以前に書かれたもの)によって、その時期がおよそ100年遡れるといったことなどを指摘する小考を掲載した。
