The current study aims to clarify the opinions of Japanese citizens and health care providers regarding the care of patients without decision making capacity who receive home health care. We sent standardized questionnaires to a sample of citizens and health care providers. In most items compared, the attitudes of citizens and health care providers differed to a statistically significant degree. This shows that, in order to provide optimal care, health care providers need to adequately confirm the desires of those they serve. Further research needs to clarify why their opinions differ.

本研究旨在厘清日本民众与医疗照护提供者对于无决策能力病人接受家庭照护的看法。我们向市民和卫生保健提供者样本发送了标准化问卷。在大多数比较项目中，公民和卫生保健提供者的态度在统计上有显著差异。这表明，为了提供最佳护理，卫生保健提供者需要充分确认他们所服务的人的愿望。进一步的研究需要澄清为什么他们的观点不同。
