项目摘要

本研究は、アリストテレスが『詩学』で論じている「あやまち」という概念を切り口として、17世紀フランス悲劇を統一的に分析することを目的とする。そのさい、アリストテレス『詩学』と、ルネサンス以降ラテン語を媒介に形成されたアリストテレス『詩学』の伝統的な解釈のあいだで生じた齟齬を意識しながら、演劇理論と悲劇作品の関係性を考察する。バロックと呼ばれる時代に劇作活動を行った劇作家の悲劇作品と、演劇理論書を精読した昨年度の研究成果をふまえて、今年度は17世紀末にアリストテレス『詩学』を翻訳したアンドレ・ダシエと、ラシーヌ、カンピストロンの悲劇作品に焦点をあてて研究活動を進めた。一般にラシーヌとダシエはアリストテレス『詩学』を原典で読んだために、彼らの悲劇理解が伝統的なアリストテレス『詩学』解釈とは一線を画していると言われている。ところが、オイディプスのあやまちの解釈に着目すると、ダシエが悲劇における道徳的効用を強く意識していたことがわかる。ダシエは、オイディプスの不幸が父殺しや近親相姦の罰であるならば「不当」であり、それが「相応しい」様相を呈するように、「好奇心」や「傲慢」といった性格上の欠点が直接的原因となって不幸におちいるという解釈を提案した。そうすることで、オイディプスも観客に道徳的教訓を与える登場人物となる, またここでは、オイディプス神話が示す人間と神々の対立は議論の対象となっていない。このような超越者のあり方は、ダシエと同時代の劇作家カンピストロンの『ティリダト』にも指摘できる二とから、時代思想を反映していると言える。以上のことから、ラシーヌの悲劇作品と、ラシーヌ以降の悲劇作品および演劇理論のあいだには歴然とした違いがあることがわかった。以上の研究結果を日本フランス語フランス文学会関東支部会で発表した。
