项目摘要

平成26年度の研究活動は、第一にロサンゼルスにおける長期調査、第二に執筆活動、第三に研究発表活動、第四に学芸員資格取得のための授業履修がある。前年度に引き続き、平成26年9月28日まで、カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校チカノ研究所に客員大学院生として籍を置き、資料収集、参与観察、インタビュー等に集中した。特にロサンゼルスでは、他の研究者とともに複数回、イーストロサンゼルスの壁画をめぐる調査を行った他、地元の若手作家たちにも適宜インタビューを行った。またメキシコ壁画家の壁画ワークショップや、メキシコとロサンゼルス作家によって実施された共同壁画制作イベントにも足を運び、境界のアート(Border Art)についても知見を深めた。続いて平成26年度は『平和研究』第44号の特集「地域・草の根から生まれる平和」に論文を投稿した結果、査読を通過し掲載へと至った。この論文の内容は博士論文の一端となる予定である。また平成26年度は、執筆活動の他、研究発表の機会も複数持つことができた。これらの発表を通じて一般市民にも広く自身の研究活動を伝える機会を得た。この他の活動としては、学芸員資格取得のための授業履修がある。これにより作品批評や保存、美術館に関する専門的かつ実用的な知識を得て、それらを研究の論考に反映した。加えて留学経験を活かし、東京大学のスーパーグローバル大学創成事業の一環である、メキシコ大学院大学との戦略的パートナーシップ構想にリサーチ・アシスタントとして参加し、積極的に共同研究の企画、立案、調査を行った。
