英文摘要
The purpose of this experiment is to investigate the relationship between capsaicin-sensitive sensory nerve or transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV-1) and glaucomatous changes. The eyes of the animal model of glaucoma did not show any difference of TRPV-1 like immunoreactivity from the control rat eyes. The effect of capsaicin denervation was also studied. Fourteen days after eyelids opened, the newborn rat treated with 55 mg/kg capsaicin showed the IOP elevation, 20 - 42 mmHg. These eyes were enlarged. It was unclear if the result was caused only by the effect of capsaicin denervation. These capsaicin treated rats were insulted by the ligation of the episcleral vein to elevate intraocular pressure. The histological difference from normal rat glaucoma model was not detected.
