The purpose of this research was to identify the process of acquiring competence and skill to live after diagnoses in children with chronic diseases. The participants were 14 adolescents who experienced pediatric cancer (4 high school students, 7 college students, 3 members of society). The data collected through semi-structured interviews with participant observation was analyzed qualitatively based on the Grounded Theory Approach. 9 categories emerged in the process from data were "awareness of expanding health", "overcome of various losses", "acquiring of competence for mutual understanding", "continuation of emotional relationship", "coping for uncertainty", "acquiring of resiliency", "reinforcement of hope for future", "support based on solidarity", and "longing for the meaning for life". Further theoretical sampling should be needed for the theory on the process for the children with chronic conditions to live own future after diagnoses.

本研究的目的是确定慢性病儿童在诊断后获得生活能力和技能的过程。 参与者是14名经历过儿科癌症的青少年（4名高中生，7名大学生，3名社会成员）。 通过半结构化访谈和参与式观察收集的数据进行了定性分析的基础上扎根理论的方法。 在此过程中，从数据中出现了9个类别，分别是“扩大健康的意识”、“克服各种损失”、“获得相互理解的能力”、“情感关系的延续”、“应对不确定性”、“获得弹性”、“加强对未来的希望”、“基于团结的支持”和“渴望生活的意义”。 关于慢性病儿童在诊断后如何生活在自己的未来的过程的理论还需要进一步的理论取样。
