英文摘要
Mongolians, a nomadic group in East Asia, are different from agricultural East Asians in susceptibility to lifestyle-related diseases. Genetic adaptation to the distinctive occupations would partly contribute to the ethnic differences in the disease susceptibility. The present anthropological, genetic-epidemiological study revealed that Mongolians and agricultural East Asians (Japanese and Han Chinese) showed large genetic differentiations in gene sets related to metabolic disorders, including alcohol metabolism, fatty acid metabolism, gluconeogenesis/glycolysis, and adipogenesis. Additionally, novel gene influencing visceral fat accumulation in East Asians (TRIB2) was identified.
