This study quantifies the effect of spine and pelvis movements of riders. First, we compared skilled and unskilled riders and found that there was a delay in synchronizing the upper body movements to the horse's trotting movement in unskilled riders. The reason for this lack of synchronization with the horse was thought to be related to pelvic movement of the rider. Secondly, we compared skilled riders with and without use of the rains. We found that skilled riders were able to synchronize with the horse even without controlling on a straight line course, Also, there were characteristic patterns in each rider's spine and pelvis movements. Analyzing those spine and pelvic movements of the riders provides useful information for preventing sports injuries.
