Effect of word for decreasing unpleasantness under the exposure to fear stimuli

Exposure is one of the effective cognitive and behavior therapy techniques to reduce fear or anxiety. In this study, we analyzed visual attention under the exposure condition using non-contact eye-tracking system. The results suggested that there were different patterns between visual attention to word stimuli and that of picture stimuli under exposure conditions. And the result of eye tracking was not necessarily correlated with subjective evaluations. Based on these results, we discussed about possible application of visual attention in the field of clinical psychology.
