Es sollen metallorganische Hydroxide der Lanthanoide und der 3. Gruppe des Periodensystems hergestellt werden. Diese Verbindungen dienen zur Synthese von Lanthanoid-Sauerstoff-Systemen mit d- oder p-Metallen, um bimetallische Systeme mit einer Sauerstoffbrücke aufzubauen. (Ln-O-M-Systeme) Ein Zugang zu dieser Verbindungsklasse wäre auch denkbar über metallorganische Hydroxide der d- und p-Elemente. Verbindungen, die die Ln-O-MGruppierung enthalten, sollten sehr gute Katalysatoren für Polymerisationen und verschiedene Transformationen in der organischen Synthese sein.
