项目摘要

本研究では、情動情報が意識にのぼる前に優先的に処理され初期視覚野で生じる視覚表象に影響をあたえるのか否か、また無意識から意識へ視覚情報処理が移行する際に情動による視覚処理の促進効果が観察されるか否かを検証した。この研究を遂行するため、嫌悪条件付けを用いて情動を操作し、Continuous flash suppression（CFS）を用いて意識の有無を操作した。昨年度、嫌悪条件付けされた傾き刺激（ガボールパッチ）が無意識知覚状態でも傾き残効を生じさせることがわかった。この結果から、視覚処理が限定された状態でも扁桃体から初期視覚野への神経投射がなされていることが推測される。そして、無意識処理段階から意識処理へ移行する際にも情動刺激は非情動刺激よりも優先的に処理されている可能性を暗示させた。したがって、このことを検証するため、break　CFSを用いた。この手法を用いると、試行の最初フラッシュにより標的刺激が知覚できない状態（無意識の状態）であるが、時間の経過とともにその標的刺激が知覚できる状態（意識にのぼた状態）を作り出せる。この手法では、無意識処理中に強い視覚処理が行われると反応時間が速くなるという特性があり、無意識から意識へ移行するまでの心理状態が測ることができる。意識にのぼるまでの反応時間を指標とし、情動刺激と非情動刺激ではどちらが無意識処理段階から優先的に処理されているかについて検証した。結果として、嫌悪条件付けされた傾き刺激はそうでない傾き刺激よりも反応時間が有意に短かった。そのため、情動情報は無意識処理段階から優先的に処理され、その後の意識知覚段階に移行する処理過程を促進させることがわかった。
