项目摘要

政治学と歴史叙述の関係史において、18世紀末から19世紀初頭のドイツにおけるローマ史解釈論争は転換点となった。フランス革命に端を発する政治的混乱の最中、ドイツ知識人たちは、同時代の政治的争点をめぐって、ローマ史を題材に政論を展開したのである。そこにはドイツ政治社会の構造、さらには同時代の思想的配置図が反映されていた。とりわけ、この論争は政治学と歴史叙述との関係を根底から問い直す性格をもっていた。政治的歴史叙述という伝統と、歴史学の学問的自律化という新傾向との対立が、論争の基調をなすのである。本研究は、近代的史料批判の確立者でもあるローマ史家、B.G. ニーブーアを中心に、当時のローマ史論家たちを政治思想史の文脈に位置づける。本年度の研究は順調に進展した。本年度の基調としては、ニーブーアとその周辺に関する先行研究を分析した。5月24・25日には、関西大学千里山キャンパスにて開催された政治思想学会(自由論題・分科会1)において、「18・19世紀転換期におけるローマ王政期解釈の政治学」と題した報告をおこなった。さらに、報告時の質疑応答の結果をふまえた修正をほどこしたうえで、論文「ある政治史の出発 : B.G. ニーブーアのローマ王政論」を、同学会誌『政治思想研究』に投稿した。同論文は、査読を通過し、刊行待ちの状態にある。8月後半から9月初めにかけて、フランクフルト国立図書館において、日本では入手困難な二次文献についての史料収集を行った。その際には、マックス・プランク欧州法史研究所で、M. Stolleis氏、およびH. Mohnhaupt氏らから研究上の助言を得ることができた。また、年明けの2月21日には、東京大学大学院法学政治学研究科の「政治理論研究会」において、博士論文の内容に関する報告(「19世紀ドイツにおけるフランス革命史の政治学」)をおこなった。
