项目摘要

カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス統合学区では歴史教育の成績評価にスタンフォード大学歴史教育グループのBeyond the Bubble（以下、BB）というプロジェクトが開発した問題を用いることとしている。そのため、BBが開発した問題を分析した。BBの問題は4行程度の記述式で約90問あり、以下の10タイプに分類されている。なおタイプごとの名前は筆者が便宜的につけたものである。①史料の信憑性を評価する問題、②史料の持つ利点と限界を指摘する問題、③提示された史料が実態を反映していないと考えられる理由を指摘する問題、④史料の執筆者がその史料を書いた動機を説明するために必要な情報を指摘する問題、⑤史料の中の人物や出来事、考えが同時代の典型的な例であるか否かを判断するために必要な情報を指摘する問題、⑥史料の信憑性に疑いを抱かせる箇所を指摘させ、その理由を説明させる問題、⑦どのような事実が提示されれば、史料の信憑性に疑いが生じるか指摘する問題、⑧ある歴史に関する主張を支持する証拠となる箇所を史料の中から指摘する問題、⑨史料の中で描かれている出来事が起こった原因を自身の持っている知識をもとに説明する問題、⑩史料の年代順を特定する問題である。これらをロサンゼルス統合学区の旧「歴史－社会科学フレームワーク」下での定期試験の作成例と比較した。旧フレームワーク下の試験にも史料の読解と記述式の問題があるが、単に史料を引用して答える問題であり、史料の批判的吟味が必要とされる問題ではなかった。これから導入されるBBは、史料に書かれている情報の信憑性を理由と根拠を持って判断する能力を測る問題となっている。これら10タイプの問題から具体的な問題を一つづつ選びそれに対する解答例とともに訳出し、早稲田大学教育学会紀要に掲載した。
